Today I was eager for a new Pixar poster. Who would’ve thought that I spent nearly one and half hour talking with the guys and gals from Pixar?
Recruiting day for me! Yesterday I was too tired and lacked of motivation getting some of my demo reels to the important representatives of Some Great Company. And I even shook hands with one of the people who got me into VFX at all.
This Saturday was a big day for me: My first Visual Effects supervision job apart from anything related to my education. Magic Movie hired me for the visual effects to their documentary for national TV which will be aired some time in fall. I can’t tell you about the story (because I’ve signed a non-disclosure contract) but I can tell you about my day.
Usually I don’t post party pictures or crude cell-phone videos, but some people needed official proof that I really showed up there. So here’s a video of some people at the party. Sorry to all those nice people who are not in the video and sorry to all who are shown but whose names I don’t know (yet). The video is now working - at last - shame on you, Mr YouTube!

A few days ago I received the Metroid: Zero Mission GBA game. I play lots of GBA games on my DS because they’re much cheaper and the same fun. But I must confess: I’ve never played any game of the Metroid series before.
This summer Lisa and really like harvesting strange autographs (like this one). To add another one we went to Munich on Wednesday to see Chuck Palahniuk, the novelist who wrote books such as Survivor, Choke or Fight Club, who held a reading there in the Café Muffathalle.
Both cars I usually could rely on are now broken. The blue Yaris Verso was severely crashed in an accident and the pale blue Renault today wasn’t working anymore. Something with the light machine. Great. So I was forced to rely on local public transportation to meet up with Lisa for another visit to our beloved Café Promenade. And I instantly noticed the harsh difference in traveling with public transportation between Graz and Berlin: Everything is smaller here, slower and more drunk.
