Actually I set up these records back in August but since late October they are verified by the referees and are now official: I am the world’s best Dr. Mario player (Super Nintendo version) and world’s number 4 in Tetris (GameBoy) as can be inspected here at Twin Galaxies.

I don’t know what came over me today. Probably it was the excitement mixed with a good deal of fear when I learned about our external teacher Adam Donovan’s assessment requirements for our course “3D industry” which is nothing more than getting familiar with the complex Source Engine.

A few days ago I received the Metroid: Zero Mission GBA game. I play lots of GBA games on my DS because they’re much cheaper and the same fun. But I must confess: I’ve never played any game of the Metroid series before.

The social networking on the Wii definitely sucks ass: When you don’t have any friends in real life (who does anyway?) you won’t have any in Wii-wonderland either. I am really looking forward to a nice Mii-parade with all of your Miis (provided you have some and set them to “Mingle”).

I just connected my Wii to the Web via a far too expensive original Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector. And guess what doesn’t work with Vista 64 bit. Why did I purchase that crap anyway? So I had to hook up my notebook to the web causing my meticulously planned cable setup here in Graz to end in chaos. And after two depressing hours it finally works.

I have been quite productive during the holidays but still wasn’t able to finish the last part of the Zodiac Font Family. But about a month ago I finished Contact for the DS. Especially some tunes of the music still linger in the back of my head but back then I wanted to make something in the style of the Battle music of a Japanese RPG. And before that I was layouting a couple of tunes for Jonny Hennebichler’s computer game concept Skyscrapers, a mix between Bridge Builder, SimTower and a little Hotel Giant. Although it’s never going to be made I think the tunes came off quite nicely. And because today’s my birthday I want them to be your present too.

I just purchased a Wii - now didn’t we see that one coming from a mile away? And another wiimote. And a game additional to Wii Sports, namely Trauma Center: Second Opinion which actually was the reason for getting a Wii in the first place.

My favorite PC gaming magazine, GameStar decided not to print cheats, tricks and hints for games anymore:
The internet has established itself as source for cheats and hints; you will find more up to date and more accurate walk-throughs at www.gamestar.de and on many other sites than possible in the magazine.
That is another way of telling that printed media are sooner or later becoming extinct. That’s why I decided to take a look back into the wild and crazy 1990s and my personal experiences with PC-Gaming magazines.

I wanted to post this article a few days sooner, but it was impossible for me coding a DivX Player Wordpress PlugIn, as you might know. Now I’m using Flash Video you freaks out there like way better.
Finally I got grip on the root of all evil; in my case display errors in any 3D application on my computer: It wasn’t the butler, it was the graphics card. The second one.

Yes, that’s right: Microsoft finally decided to redesign Solitaire for Windows since it’s first appearance in 1990. While downloading 539.1 MB worth of Updates I decided to write this short review. Now with pictures and hence even more pleasing to the naked eye. This is an updated version of the article I posted yesterday evening, but still I decided to keep its timestamp — the good ol’ times….
