Another convention report, my apologies! I haven’t thought that I would be on so many (= two) conventions in the field of digital film in such a short span of time. But attending the Digitale Cinematographie convention this Thursday in Munich was something way out of the ordinary because a little dream never dreamed came true: Seeing my work on the grandeur of a real IMAX theater silver screen.

This Saturday was a big day for me: My first Visual Effects supervision job apart from anything related to my education. Magic Movie hired me for the visual effects to their documentary for national TV which will be aired some time in fall. I can’t tell you about the story (because I’ve signed a non-disclosure contract) but I can tell you about my day.

Because I am spending some of my spare time revoking my “old” blog, I also took the liberty to upload large photos now — and much more of them.
Hopefully you are interested in the little shoot I enjoyed in February 2006 as third unit camera operator (w00ts!) in a real-world Counterstrike match shot in an old power plant in Voitsberg. If you are interested in a hunk (50+) of photos and the report, just click: Counterstrike Cobra. Enjoy the slide show or click on “Picture List” to select large versions of the photos! And better get used to the slide show tool on my blog.

It was only the footage from Oliver’s reel but looked better than I had thought. It looked like an alpha version of a strange Counterstrike: Source - addictive!

Everything started about one week ago when I got a call from my old-time school colleague Paul Meschuh who desperately needed an additional camera operator for his documentary he was working on for two years now. I hesitated, but after a few day of thinking about it I called Paul back.
Enjoy the slide show there or click on “Picture List” to select large versions of the photos!
