My First Character Designs

10:06 pm Art, games

An assembly of my character design todayI don’t know what came over me today. Probably it was the excitement mixed with a good deal of fear when I learned about our external teacher Adam Donovan’s assessment requirements for our course “3D industry” which is nothing more than getting familiar with the complex Source Engine.

I don’t know yet whether I want to import a working character into HL Deathmatch or create five prefabs with all custom materials, or a bunch of self made dynamic models. I only know that during one long 300 km drive to Graz I came up with a good story for a Half-Life mod. That was my main inspiration when I suddenly began doing what I haven’t done before — ever: Sketching Character designs. Of course, they aren’t anything great (especially when contemplating the works of my colleagues). Still I am somewhat proud of my first attempts and that’s the reason why I post them here on my blog. Just click the post-thumbnail above. Enjoy!
